Gingerbread Houses

On the last Friday before break, the 2nd period AVID class made gingerbread houses as groups. Each group was given a package of graham crackers, a tube of pink frosting, and an assortment of candy to use as decorations. It was up to each group to assemble and decorate their houses.

Holiday Cards and Sugar Cookies

On the last Thursday before break, the 1st period AVID class accomplished two things: making holiday cards for a few of their teachers, and decorating sugar cookies to eat. Students worked in groups together on these two tasks, making the cards first and then the cookies. Some cookies turned out well, and others were gone (in the stomachs!) before I could even get there to see the finished work.
