Thanksgiving Turkeys

Out of cupcakes, frosting, sprinkles, and candy corn, students created some turkeys.

The turkeys turned out great, and students enjoyed eating them as much as making them.

Mandala Essay

A mandala is a circular representation of a person, with symbols about that person within. Students created their own mandalas, and were given the assignment to write an essay explaining both the symbols and the mandala. More information about the assignment can be found on the Savanna HS website.

This assignment is due December 15th or 16th.

Time Managemen Presentations

Students were asked to find articles from online about managing time, and then create a poster from those articles. Students chose strategies from the articles to share with their classmates, and presented that information on posters.

Knott's Berry Farm hosted a private party for all AVID students in junior high and high schools on Friday, November 6, 2009. Our students had a marvelous time at the park. Here are some great pictures from that night.
